Dancing with the Stars Portland

In addition to the graceful and dramatic moves of the dancers, the evening will feature a lively reception, auction, cocktails and a gourmet plated dinner at the Portland Doubletree at Lloyd Center.  All of the funds raised from the event will be directly utilized to preserve PCRI’s existing affordable rental homes, develop new homes for affordable rental and homeownership opportunities and expand PCRI’s award-winning, culturally-specific resident services programs.

Reggie came to KGW from CNN in Atlanta, where he worked for CNN International anchoring breaking news from the Japan Tsunami to the “Arab Spring” uprising.

He also anchored CNN’s online network including coverage of President Obama’s inauguration which broke Internet viewership records.

Reggie attended the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Chicago. He then worked for stations in Green Bay, Milwaukee and Houston.

Portland brings him closer to his brothers and sisters in his native Hawaii.

Many of you may recall that before I became a lawyer, I had a career as a dancer (go with me here for a minute).  You know that I spent several years in the early ’80 on Soul Train – that’s me in the white unitard.

The responses we’ve receive from Mr. Oden-Orr’s campaign range from “Please!  Whatever you do … don’t wear that jumpsuit to the event.  I’ll even pay you not to wear it” to “What’s your bid?”

Of course, you’ll have to attend the gala (or volunteer) in order to see the dancers outfits.  Time is running out and tickets are going fast, so be sure to get yours today!

PCRI is thankful for Portland Housing Bureau’s support of our 20th Anniversary Gala!

Fellow dancing competitor, Multnomah County Commissioner Deborah Kafoury, also tried on her dresses recently, saying simply: “Wow!”

After last week’s test fitting, the dancers’ outfits will receive final tailoring before the dancers show them off in the Dancing with the Stars-style competition at the Gala.
